October highlights

Summer is here as we experienced some high temperatures during the month, some days over 38 degrees. Later in the month, the rain arrived which means all the areas in the park that had burnt are now turning lush and green.

Our balloons have started flying again and we are thrilled to share this amazing experience with guests again.

We have shared some great moments and sightings with our guests both on balloons and game-drives over this past month. Here are some photos taken during the month that we would like to share with you.

With a wide range of activities on offer, we have something for every member of the family to enjoy.

Good news for our international travelers.

As per president Cyril Ramaphosa’s address to the Nation on 16 September 2020, South Africa will move to Lockdown Level 1 from 21 September 2020 and International Travel will open from 01 October 2020.
However, there will be restrictions:
  • International travel will only be allowed to and from certain countries. South African Government will compile a list of countries that are deemed too high risk for which travel restrictions will still apply. Similarly, other countries might still have closed borders or have a temporary travel ban in place for South Africa. Travel to all destinations will not be immediately possible.
  • Travelers will require a negative COVID test result no older than 72 hours or will have to quarantine for 14 days. The quarantine will be at their own cost.
  • International travelers can only enter at one of the border posts that have remained open during lockdown or at Cape Town International, OR Tambo, and King Shaka Airport.
We are ready to welcome back guests from all over the world and have put every measure in place to keep you safe while having fun. Come and create new memories with us while enjoying the wide-open spaces and spectacular African landscapes.

Your adventure starts here…

Happy World Environment Day!

Happy World Environment Day!

This year the theme of World Environment Day 2020 is “Celebrate Biodiversity”.

Did you know?

Biodiversity is the shortened form of two words “biological” and “diversity”. It refers to all the variety of life that can be found on Earth (plants, animals, fungi and micro-organisms) as well as to the communities that they form and the habitats in which they live. With almost 1 million plant & animal species facing extinction, there has never been a more important time to focus on biodiversity.

World Environment Day promotes ways to improve the Earth’s environment.

Our focus at Mankwe GAMETRACKERS for the entire month of June will be to drive the concept of keeping our environment clean.

Covid-19 has become the center of attention for everyone in South Africa and the world at large. Key issues and messages are receiving less and less attention one such being the environment and conservation. Therefore, our hashtags this year are #KeepSafe#KeepOurEnvironmentclean#LiftTheLitter. We believe this message will bring back awareness and even probe the proper disposing of Covid-19 related litter. As restrictions are lifting, the litter must be lifted too.

So as we celebrate today, we would like to remind all our teams, our customers, partners and our communities at large to lift the litter whilst in lockdown…
